Voyageurs National Park Presents Pulse of the Landscape
Imagine your perfect day at Voyageurs National Park: sunrise over clear blue water and bird songs filling the morning air. Later, you catch a walleye that you fillet and cook for dinner at your next campsite. The campsite is hemmed to the water’s edge by paper birch and white pine – everything you love about the northern lake country is right here. Would you be surprised to learn that each of these resources is monitored annually by park staff?
Join Great Lakes Network Biologist Ted Gostomski as he shares examples of what biologists are learning from long-term monitoring, which helps us keep a finger on the pulse of the landscape.
Meet at the Rainy Lake Visitor Center on Sunday, March 4, 2012. The program runs from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Recommended ages are 13 and up.
This program is sponsored by Voyageurs National Park Association. No fee or registration is required to attend. Learn more at www.nps.gov.
