All Minnesota Academic Team Member

Andrew Linaman , a Mesabi Range College student, has been named 2012 All-Minnesota, Academic Team Member.

Phi Theta Kappa, the international honor society for two-year colleges, was pleased to honor Andrew Linaman as a member to the 2012 All-Minnesota Academic Team. All 40 members, along with their college representatives and family members were treated to an award banquet at the Eagan Community Center in Eagan, Minnesota on Friday, March 30, 2012.

Andy is majoring in Industrial Technology. He is the treasurer and active member in Mesabi Range Community & Technical College Phi Theta Kappa Club and involved in student senate on the EvelethCampus.

He hopes to find a job in the mining industry as a Process Engineer.

Special guest will be Trustee James Van Houten of the Minnesota State Colleges & Universities.

Modern Magic with Jared Sherlock at CSS

DULUTH, MN – “The Magic of Jared Sherlock” will wrap up the 2011-2012 Bravo performance series at 7:30 p.m. Friday, May 4, in the Mitchell Auditorium at The College of St. Scholastica.

Tickets are $10, but free of charge for Mitchell Performing Arts season ticket holders. A concession stand and limited bar are available for patrons.

Community Wellness Day in St. Louis County

The St. Louis County Board of Commissioners has proclaimed Saturday April 28 as Community Wellness Day and urges all of its citizens to recognize and participate in its observance.

Public and private sector organizations including St. Louis County, City of Duluth, University of Minnesota-Duluth, Associated Chiropractic of Kenwood, Essentia Health and Blue Cross Blue Shield of Minnesota have joined forces with 40 other organizations, including local farmers, to promote healthy life styles, public safety, environmental wellness and financial literacy.

A free community wellness event will be held on Saturday April 28, 2012 in observance of Community Wellness Day at the University of Minnesota-Duluth, Romano Gym from 11:00 a.m.

Special Prom Night in Hibbing

Special Prom Night in Hibbing

It was a special night for Paul Given and Ashley Campbell, as the couple was crowned Prom King and Queen in Hibbing.

It started out with the pair going to Sammy's Pizza for dinner. Then grand march, and dancing.

The two were surprised with the announcement at the dance on Saturday night. They were very excited!

It was a unanimous vote by the students.

Given's sister said the family is grateful for this amazing gift.
