“Wildfire in a Wild Land” presented by the Lake Superior Marine Museum Association (LSMMA), on Thursday, February 23 at Canal Park Lodge, 250 Canal Park Drive in Duluth. The presentation begins at 7:00 pm. This event is part of the association’s winter Evening Entertainment Series programs. Admission and parking are free.
According to a press release, Kris Reichenbach of the US Forest Service will share photographs and information about the Pagami Creek Wildfire that burned more than 145 square miles of the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness. Learn how the historic event was a natural occurrence and more about the role of the fire in the boreal landscape.
LSMMA is a nonprofit organization established in 1973 to preserve the region’s maritime history. It also helps support the Marine Museum at the Army Corps of Engineers’ Lake Superior Maritime Visitors Center. The association sponsors maritime-related educational and promotional programs and assists in the maintenance and purchase of museum displays.
