Representative Kerry Gauthier (DFL-Duluth) is pleased to announce that the Duluth Superior Symphony Orchestra will receive a $95,000 grant from the State Arts Board.
The grant was made available through an appropriation by the Minnesota Legislature with money from the November 4, 2008, Legacy vote of the people.
Representative Gauthier serves on the State Government Finance committee, which has jurisdiction over state agencies including the Minnesota State Arts Board.
The Duluth Superior Symphony Orchestra will use the funds to tour and share classical music and symphonic programs in the communities of Two Harbors, Cloquet, Virginia, and Hibbing.
Legacy Amendment arts and cultural heritage funds are used to support arts and arts access, arts education, and arts and cultural heritage throughout Minnesota.
